The City Clerk’s Office is the Custodian of Records and works directly with the Board of Aldermen, prepares agendas and records the official minutes of the Board of Aldermen proceedings. The City Clerk is also the legal custodian of the city seal and the permanent records for the City which includes Ordinances, Resolutions, City Cemetery and contracts and supervises their retention. Other duties of the Office of the City Clerk include purchase of graves and information on the City Cemetery, and requests for records.


Board of Aldermen Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Chambers at Warrenton City Hall. The meetings can be viewed on YouTube or they are televised on the City’s Cable Channel.  If you have a newer television it should be on ch108-1, 108-2, or 108-3, and if you have an older television with a converter box it will be located on channel 993.  To request to be placed on the Board agenda, please email Melody Rugh.


The City Clerk’s Office files notices for advertisement, certifies official documents, prepares documentation for candidates in municipal elections and administers the Oath of Office for elected officials.
