The City is continuing to aggressively move forward with engineers and MoDot to prepare for the new interchange. The board has approved naming of the road, as well as a petition has been sent to MoDot for the naming of the bridge. Preliminary aesthetic drawings are being analyzed. All properties have been annexed into the city, while developers are seeking retailers to fill their up and coming development.
In September the Board of Alderman passed the naming of the new road to be West Warrenton Blvd. This will be the road that connects the south eastern roundabout with the northern outer road. A petition with 100 signatures has been sent to MoDot for the naming of the overpass bridge. The petitioners would like to propose the name of the Jerry Dyer Memorial Bridge. Jerry was one of the City’s biggest advocates for another overpass.
The City was presented with preliminary aesthetic drawings of the interchange area. The exit ramps will be very welcoming to travelers with landscaping, trees and a City of Warrenton sign along with the American Flag. The bridge will have a lighted sidewalk for pedestrians.
All the annexations that were needed for the development have been completed. The City is looking forward to the interchange completion in August 2018.
