Animal Control Officer
The City of Warrenton is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Police Department as a full-time Animal Control Officer. This position offers a competitive starting wage of $22.35 per hour.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responds to incoming calls concerning various animal control issues, including animal bites, animal abuse, stray and nuisance animals, wild animals. Injured animals, animal behavior problems, etc.
- Coordinates animal shelter operations; receives incoming animals, processes animal adoptions; collects fees and issues receipts; receives lost pet calls and notifies owners when found.
- Investigate animal cruelty complaints; assists in serving citations.
- Provides medical care and grooming for impounded animals; administers injections.
- Assists veterinarians in euthanizing animals
- Responds to after hours calls as needed
Code Enforcement Officer
The City of Warrenton is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Police Department as a full-time Code Enforcement Officer. This position offers a competitive pay range of $59,488.00 – $65,665.60 yearly DOQ.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Receives and responds to reports and complaints of Municipal Code violations from citizens and city officials.
- Research property ownership through available resources; city utility listings, county, and state records, business licenses and permits, title searches, etc.
- Patrols the city to detect and deter crime; enforces local ordinances, state law, and federal law; performs community policing activities; inspects businesses; regulates traffic; issues warnings and citations; makes arrests
- Represents the City in public hearings, meetings, and legal actions involving violation status and compliance proceedings.
- Conducts investigations of crime scenes; identifies, collects, and preserves evidence; interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects; prepares case files and testifies in court as required
- Apprehends, arrests, and processes offenders.
- Performs traffic enforcement duties and maintains safe traffic conditions; investigates accidents; provides escorts; reports unsafe streets and facilities.
Police Officer
The City of Warrenton is accepting applications for a full-time reliable Police Officer. This job earns a competitive pay of $27.24 – 28.62/hr DOQ. The position of a Police Officer is responsible for the protection of life and property through active, continuous enforcement of the laws and ordinances. Duties encompass the various aspects of crime prevention, traffic accident investigations, on-the-scene interviews of witnesses and participants in various incidents wherein statutes and/or ordinances are violated, traffic control, and special assignments. Officers must be available to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, 12 hour shifts, Requires the ability to perform foot pursuits, subdue suspects resisting arrest, etc.
