Grounds & Maintenance Department

The Grounds and Maintenance Department is entrusted with the upkeep of all City-owned properties, encompassing 116 acres of parks, 35 acres of cemetery grounds, the I-70 entrance and exit ramps, as well as all City buildings. Their responsibilities include landscaping, mowing, tree trimming, and the regular emptying of trash receptacles. In addition to their maintenance duties, the department is also engaged in annual remodeling and new construction projects. They play a crucial role in supporting other departments during special event setups and are responsible for the installation and removal of seasonal and holiday decorations.
